In case you missed the Showcase of Schools this past week wanted to give you a heads up the new registration date for applying to CHOICE Programs, November 5th. Please visit www.mypbchoiceapp.com to apply. Remember there is also a wait-list, so don't get discouraged if your child didn't make it into the school the 1st round, everyone can pick 2 schools. People are also applying to charters and the zoned school, so there is a chance you'll move up on the wait list. A friend was called 2 weeks before school began in the Summer - crazy right, but she's very happy now.
Also when looking into schools ask questions like, do they offer classes that you were looking for your child, PE, Art, Media etc.? What is the homework policy? Set up a tour at schools you're interested in, you'll get that parent intuition. Ask your friends, ask random parents, I feel that one of the best opinions sometimes come from parents and students already in a program and school.
