2014 WINTER JUNIOR NATURALIST at Green Cay 

Ages 9-14, $10/each class, $50/all six classes (Reservations required)
The Junior Naturalist Series is designed for youth who are interested in nature and outdoor activities. The goal of the program is to actively put youth in touch with nature and teach them about the Green Cay Wetlands and South Florida wildlife. This is a great way to learn about nature and have fun meeting new people at the Green Cay Nature Center. You can attend all 6 sessions or just one session of your choosing. Each session will include an informative presentation and hands on activities in the lab and outside on the boardwalk and natural area. Snacks will be provided but please pack a lunch if staying for both morning and afternoon sessions. Please call for more detailed information 561-966-7000.

Junior Ornithologist
December 29, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Learn to identify birds, learn phonetic bid calls, learn about bill design.

Junior Herpetologist
December 29, 12-3 p.m.
Learn about reptiles and amphibians, learn how to handle reptiles, check tree frog research poles.

Junior Botanist
December 30, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Learn about local plants, learn about seeds, go on the boardwalk to study plants.

Junior Survivalist
December 30, 12-3 p.m.
Learn how to navigate, learn how to evaluate your habitat, learn uses for plants.

Junior Wetland Ecologist
December 31, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Learn about water pollution, learn about wetland plants and animals, learn about the importance of wetlands.

Junior Entomologist
December 31, 12-3 p.m.
Learn about insects, collect insects, ID and mount your insects.
