Welcome to the Boynton Beach Arts & Cultural Center

September 7, 2021

Boynton Beach is experiencing a renaissance with the building of the Town Square project, a downtown public/private partnership. Featuring a state-of-art City Hall, library, fire station, retail, 575 residential units, boutique hotel, 2 parking garages, two playgrounds, and an expansive courtyard with lush gardens, and well-designed seating areas with Art in Public Places sculptures contained throughout.

The first phase of this highly-anticipated, 118 million-dollar project was the Cultural Center, housed in the historic, Boynton High School built in 1927. The newly renovated 28,000 square foot building includes a stunning auditorium with a towering 39-foot-high domed ceiling, that can serve more than 250 guests for a seated dinner, and 500 guests for performances and receptions. Two floors house meeting spaces with 9 potential rooms suitable for a variety of configurations. The expansive hallways on both floors will serve as gallery space for the City’s Art in Public Places display of rotating exhibits by professional artists.

If you open up any edition of Funfare Magazine (printed 3 times a year for Fall, Winter, and Summer sessions) you can see the breadth of options for participation. The Cultural Center offers a full schedule of classes and special events, including; all varieties of art classes, theater, music, yoga and mindfulness, karate, Improv lessons, ballet, tap, hip-hop dance, and more. We are creating an atmosphere of cultural activity, a magnet for artists and performers and a haven for those seeking to enrich their lives through cultural arts and community gatherings. In addition, we host events of all types for private rentals and business meetings.

With amazing dance teachers like Maryann Benjamin of  MAP Dance Theater and Cara Damier of Dance Trends, students will not only learn from the best of Palm Beach County, but from professionally trained and nationally renowned performers. All of the instructors at the Boynton Beach Arts & Cultural Center are trained to work with and meet the needs of every student.

Art aficionados needn’t look any further for something to do all days of the week! Technical drawing classes for adults are offered, such as, Draw Like Leonardo DaVinci, as well as classes like Tecky Craft Creations for those who are more interested in interdisciplinary art forms and want to get their hands dirty. Instructors like Subbora JacksonTalin LymanBarb Lentz and Rose Shaw all offer something different and remind us that art doesn’t have one singular definition.

The Boynton Beach Arts & Cultural Center’s mission is to be as inclusive and diverse as the community they represent. Classes like Wheelchair Yoga welcome any person who uses a wheelchair no matter their age. With the most efficient hearing loop technology which activates the telecoil in users hearing device, anyone with hearing loss or impairments will be able to enjoy an event or performance in this space.

Surrounded by public art, majestic kapok trees and two brand new playgrounds, the Boynton Beach Arts & Cultural Center is a welcome addition to Downtown Boynton Beach. As the community’s beacon of creativity and inspiration, there is no telling what will happen next.
